Your first request

In this tutorial, you ask MiOSbot to research a small business question, review what it returns, and follow up in the same conversation. It takes about ten minutes.

Before you start

You need a MiOSbot account and a computer with a current web browser. MiOSbot for Mac and iPhone is coming soon, so use the browser for now.

1. Open MiOSbot

1. Go to the Download page and select Open MiOSbot.
2. Sign in with the access method your workspace administrator gave you.

You see the chat workspace, with your sessions listed in the sidebar.

2. Start a new chat

Select New chat in the sidebar. A new, empty session opens with the message box at the bottom.

To keep related sessions together later, you can move this one into a folder. For this tutorial, you can skip that.

3. Ask for something useful

Type a request that names the result you want, the details that matter, and the format. For example:

Find five bakeries within 10 miles of downtown Columbus that cater office breakfasts for 30 people. Compare price per person, ordering lead time, and delivery, and put it in a table. Include each bakery’s website.

Then send it.

4. Watch it work

While MiOSbot works, the session shows Working, and you can see the steps it takes, such as searching the web and reading pages. You don’t need to wait on the page. You can open another session and come back.

If MiOSbot needs something from you, the session shows Needs you. Open it and answer the question, or review the request and choose whether to allow it.

To cancel the work, select Stop while it’s running.

5. Review the result

When MiOSbot finishes, read the answer. Check that it covers what you asked for, and open a few of the sources it links to. MiOSbot can make mistakes, so verify anything you plan to rely on, such as prices or hours.

6. Follow up in the same session

Stay in the same session so MiOSbot keeps the context. Try one of these:

• “Drop any that need more than two days’ notice and add their phone numbers.”
• “Draft a short email I can send to the top two asking for a quote for next Thursday.”
• “Turn this into a one-page summary I can share with my office manager.”

MiOSbot drafts the email but doesn’t send anything on your behalf unless you ask it to and approve where required.

7. Find it later

Your session stays in the sidebar. Use Search sessions to find it by name or topic, and pin it if you’ll come back to it often.
