Talk to MiOSbot in the browser, by text message, iMessage, Slack, email, or voice. Replies come back where you asked.
Ways to reach MiOSbot
MiOSbot isn’t limited to one chat window. Your workspace admin decides which of these channels are connected for your workspace.
| Channel | How you use it | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Browser | Chat in MiOSbot. | Available now. Open MiOSbot. |
| Mac and iPhone apps | Chat from the native apps. | Coming soon |
| Text messages | Text your workspace’s connected phone number. | When your admin connects it |
| iMessage | Message MiOSbot from Messages on your iPhone or Mac. | When your admin connects it |
| Slack | Send a direct message or mention MiOSbot in a channel. | When your admin connects it |
| Email the connected address. | When your admin connects it | |
| Voice | Talk to MiOSbot live in the browser, or have it place phone calls. | See Voice and Phone calls |
If a channel you want isn’t listed in your workspace, ask your workspace admin to connect it.
Replies come back where you asked
MiOSbot answers in the same place your message came from:
- A text message gets a text message back.
- An iMessage gets an iMessage reply, in the same chat.
- A Slack message gets a reply in the same direct message, channel, or thread.
- An email gets a reply in the same email thread.
You don’t need to tell MiOSbot where to answer. To get a result somewhere else, say so in your request, for example “Email me the summary when it’s done.”
Each conversation keeps its own context
Each group chat, Slack channel, and email correspondent has its own conversation, so a question in one group doesn’t spill into another. Depending on how your workspace is set up, your direct messages may share context with your main chat.
Who can talk to MiOSbot
New people can’t start using MiOSbot just by messaging it. On most channels, a new sender needs approval first. See Who can talk to MiOSbot.
