Docs What it can do

Talk with MiOSbot

Speak to MiOSbot in a live conversation, dictate messages, and get spoken replies or voice notes.

Choose how to use your voice

The microphone button in the message box gives you two options:

Gesture What it does
Tap to talk Starts a live voice conversation. You speak, and MiOSbot answers out loud.
Hold to start dictation Turns your speech into text in the message box, so you can review it before you send.

The first time, your browser asks for microphone access. Allow it to continue.

Have a live conversation

  1. Tap the microphone button.
  2. Speak naturally. MiOSbot listens and replies out loud.
  3. Tap the button again to end the conversation.

Example requests while talking:

  • “What’s on my plate today?”
  • “Look up the weather in Denver tomorrow and tell me if I need a jacket.”
  • “Switch to a different voice.”

To change the voice during a conversation, ask MiOSbot. It reconnects with the new voice and keeps the conversation going.

Dictate a message

  1. Press and hold the microphone button until dictation starts.
  2. Release and keep speaking.
  3. Select Stop to insert the text into the message box, then edit and send it.

Get spoken replies

Ask MiOSbot to read something aloud, and it sends the reply as audio.

  • “Read me that summary out loud.”
  • “Send that as a voice message.”

In chat, the reply appears with a player. In a connected messaging app, it arrives as an audio file. Long replies may be summarized before they’re read aloud.

Send voice messages

When you send MiOSbot an audio message in a connected messaging app, it transcribes your message and replies to what you said. This needs a transcription service set up for your workspace.

Limits and requirements

  • Live conversation and dictation need a voice service set up for your workspace. If one isn’t available, the button shows that it isn’t configured. Ask your workspace administrator.
  • A microphone choice applies the next time you start a conversation.
  • Keep the MiOSbot tab in the foreground. Browsers may block the microphone on inactive tabs.
