Calendar and mail

Connect your Google calendar and mail, then ask MiOSbot to find meeting times, schedule events, and answer invites.

Connect your Google calendar and mail

Your workspace admin connects Google Workspace mail and calendar for your workspace. Ask your workspace admin to connect your Google mailbox and calendar. You don’t sign in from chat, and MiOSbot never asks you for your password.

Once connected, you can ask from any channel: the browser, text messages, iMessage, Slack, or email.

Important: MiOSbot works on a connected mailbox and calendar only for its owner. When someone else messages MiOSbot, it can’t read, send, or schedule from your mailbox or calendar for them.

Find a time

Ask MiOSbot for open slots. It checks your calendar within working hours.

  • “Find 30 minutes for me and Priya sometime next week.”
  • “When am I free for a one-hour meeting in the next three days?”
  • “Find a 45-minute slot with alex@example.com and sam@example.com before Friday.”

MiOSbot returns a list of open times. It can check your teammates’ availability too. For people outside your company, it can check only if they share their calendar with you, and it tells you whose availability it couldn’t check.

Schedule an event

  • “Put ‘Quarterly taxes’ on my calendar Thursday at 2 p.m. for an hour.”
  • “Schedule a call with jordan@example.com Tuesday at 10 a.m. and add a Google Meet link.”
  • “Book the Wednesday 3 p.m. slot you found and invite Priya.”

What happens:

  • An event with only you on it is added to your calendar right away.
  • An event with other people is an invitation, so MiOSbot asks for your approval first. The request shows the title, the time, and who will be invited.
  • By default, invited people get the invitation by email. Say “don’t email them” if you want to add them quietly.
  • Ask for a Google Meet link and MiOSbot adds one to the event.

Answer invites

  • “What invites am I waiting to answer?”
  • “Accept the Monday team lunch.”
  • “Decline the vendor demo and tell them I’m traveling that week.”

MiOSbot lists the invites that need your answer, soonest first, each with a suggested answer (accept, maybe, or decline) and a short reason. When you tell MiOSbot to answer a specific invite, it does. If MiOSbot answers on its own, for example while working through a list, it asks for your approval first.

Answering an invite changes only your own response. The organizer isn’t emailed about your answer unless you ask, for example “decline and let the organizer know.”

Approvals

When MiOSbot needs your approval, it shows what it’s about to do. Choose to allow it once or deny it. If you don’t answer within 10 minutes, nothing is sent or created.
