Docs MiOSbot
Devices and connection
Check your connection to MiOSbot, approve a new browser, and manage the devices paired with your workspace.
Check your connection
Your browser stays connected to your workspace’s Gateway while MiOSbot is open. If the connection drops, MiOSbot shows Disconnected or Reconnecting… and tries again on its own.
- To try right away, select Retry now.
- Messages you send while disconnected wait in a queue and go out after the connection returns.
- Most actions and setting changes are unavailable until you’re reconnected.
Approve a new browser
The first time you sign in from a new browser, MiOSbot may show Approve this browser. An administrator approves the request from the Devices page. After approval, the page connects on its own.
If MiOSbot says Limited access, this browser can chat and handle approvals but can’t use administrator controls. To ask for more, select Request admin. An administrator can approve or reject the request.
View your devices
Open Devices to see everything paired with your workspace.
- Each device shows whether it’s connected or offline, and when it was last seen.
- The summary shows how many devices are connected, and how many are awaiting approval.
Administrators can also:
- Approve or Reject a pending request.
- Edit alias to give a device a friendly name.
- Remove… a device. A removed device must pair again before it can reconnect.
Pair a device
Administrators create setup codes for new devices.
- Open Devices and select Pair device.
- Under Setup type, choose Full access (recommended) or Limited access. Limited access allows chat and approvals without administrative controls.
- Select Create setup code.
- Scan the QR code with the device, or select Copy setup code.
- When the device connects, MiOSbot shows Device paired.
Setup codes expire. If a code expires, select Generate new code.
Important: Keep setup codes private. Anyone with a valid code can try to pair a device with your workspace.
Note: The MiOSbot apps for Mac and iPhone are coming soon. See App availability.
