Email MiOSbot and let it handle your mail

Email requests to MiOSbot, and have it draft replies and send mail for you, with your approval before anything goes out.

Two ways MiOSbot works with email

  • Email MiOSbot. Send a request to the connected email address and get the answer back in the same thread.
  • Let MiOSbot work on your mail. Ask MiOSbot, from any channel, to draft replies or send email from your mailbox. Every email it sends needs your approval first.

Both need your workspace admin to connect email. Ask your workspace admin to connect your mailbox.

Email MiOSbot

  1. Write a new email to the connected address. Put the address in the To field.
  2. Write your request in the body. You can include a subject.
  3. Send it. MiOSbot replies in the same email thread.

Example requests:

  • Subject “Quote follow-up”: “Write a polite follow-up for customers who haven’t answered our quote in two weeks.”
  • “Summarize the attached contract and list anything unusual.”
  • “Research three local caterers for 40 people and email me a comparison.”

What MiOSbot ignores:

  • Mail where the connected address is only in Cc. It treats that as someone else’s conversation.
  • Automated mail, such as no-reply senders, newsletters, mailing lists, and out-of-office replies.
  • The earlier quoted text in your email. Put everything MiOSbot needs in your new message.

Your workspace admin can limit which senders or company domains MiOSbot answers by email.

Ask about your mail

With your mailbox connected, MiOSbot can look through your mail and read threads for you.

  • “Did Acme Supply reply about the backorder?”
  • “Summarize the email thread with the landlord about the lease renewal.”

Have MiOSbot draft a reply

Ask MiOSbot to draft, and it saves a draft in your mailbox. Nothing is sent. You review the draft, edit it, and send it yourself.

  • “Draft a reply to Sam’s email about the invoice saying we’ll pay by Friday.”
  • “Draft a friendly reply to the newest message from Garcia Landscaping and keep everyone copied.”

By default a draft reply keeps everyone on the latest message copied. Say “just reply to the sender” if you want otherwise.

Have MiOSbot send an email

When you ask MiOSbot to send, it prepares the email and asks for your approval.

  • “Email jordan@example.com and confirm the delivery for Tuesday at 9 a.m.”
  • “Send the team a reminder that timesheets are due tomorrow.”

What happens:

  1. MiOSbot shows an approval request with the recipients, the subject, and a preview of the message.
  2. You approve it or deny it.
  3. After you approve, MiOSbot sends it. Your workspace may hold the email for a few seconds first so the send can still be undone.

If you don’t answer the approval request within 10 minutes, the email isn’t sent. Ask again, or ask MiOSbot to save it as a draft.

Important: MiOSbot uses your mailbox only for you. When someone else messages MiOSbot, it can’t read or send mail from your mailbox for them.
