Docs MiOSbot

Models, permissions, and usage

Choose the model and effort for a session, set how much MiOSbot can do on its own, and keep an eye on usage limits.

Model and effort

The controls next to the message box apply to the current session.

  • Model: choose from the models available in your workspace. Changing the model affects only this session. To go back, choose Default.
  • Effort: choose how hard MiOSbot thinks, from Faster to Smarter. More effort gives better results on hard tasks but takes longer.
  • Fast mode: when the model supports it, MiOSbot replies faster but uses more of your limits.

If a model is marked Chat only, it can talk but can’t use tools. For work with files, the web, or media, choose another model.

Permissions

The Permissions control sets how much MiOSbot can do in this session before someone reviews it.

Setting What it does
Default Follows your workspace’s standard policy.
Read Only MiOSbot can read but can’t make changes or run actions.
Guarded A person reviews any request that goes beyond the session’s own work area.
Workspace An automatic reviewer checks requests that go beyond the session’s own work area.
Full Access No reviewer. Only administrators can choose this setting.

Important: Payments and other sensitive actions follow the approval rules whatever the setting. See Approvals.

Context window

The Context window indicator shows how much of the session’s working memory is in use. When a session gets long, MiOSbot condenses earlier messages automatically. If MiOSbot recommends it, select Compact to condense the session now.

For an unrelated task, a new session usually works better than a very long one.

Usage and limits

Open Usage in the sidebar to see your workspace’s activity:

  • Tokens and cost over time, from Today up to a full year.
  • A Token Activity chart by day.
  • Plan limits reported by your model accounts, with the percentage left and when they reset.

If you reach a limit, the message box shows Usage limit reached and when it resets. You can keep drafting and adding files. Then wait for the reset, or choose another available model.

Example requests

  • “Use more effort on this one. It’s an important proposal.”
  • “How much of my usage have I used this month?”
  • “Summarize this session so far, then I’ll start a fresh one.”
