Run work in parallel

Run several MiOSbot sessions at once, let MiOSbot hand parts of a job to helpers, and follow everything on the Tasks page.

Run several sessions at once

Each session works on its own, so you can keep several jobs moving at the same time. Start a New session for each job, then switch between them in the sidebar. Sessions that are working show Working….

To see two sessions side by side, open a session’s menu and choose Split below, New tab, or New window. Split view needs a wide screen.

Let MiOSbot use helpers

For big jobs, MiOSbot can split the work and hand parts to helpers (subagents) that run in the background. Each helper gets its own task. When a helper finishes, it reports back to the session that started it, and MiOSbot combines the results.

Ask in plain words:

  • “Research these five suppliers in parallel and give me one comparison table.”
  • “Have one helper draft the newsletter while another pulls this month’s sales numbers.”
  • “Check each of these three websites for broken contact forms at the same time.”

MiOSbot decides when helpers are useful. You can also ask it directly to work in parallel.

Follow progress

Where What you see
The session A Task progress card shows the steps and how many are done, such as “3 of 5 completed”.
The sessions list Helper sessions appear under their parent session. Expand the parent to list them.
A helper session A read-only view of the helper’s work. To reply, select Open parent session and continue there.
Tasks page Active lists queued and running background work. Recent lists completed, failed, and cancelled tasks.

On the Tasks page, each task shows its type, such as Subagent or Automation, and its status. From there you can:

  • Select Open session to see the work.
  • Cancel a task that you no longer need.
  • Select Copy result to copy a finished result.

Steer or stop work in progress

  • To add instructions while MiOSbot is working, type a new message. Depending on your settings, MiOSbot either queues the message until the run ends or adds it to the work in progress (steer). To change this, open Settings, then Appearance, then Follow-ups while the agent is working.
  • To steer a message that’s waiting in the queue, select Steer next to it.
  • To stop the current run, select Stop or press Esc.

Note: Each helper uses its own share of your usage limits. Check Usage if you run many large jobs at once. See Models, permissions, and usage.
