Automations, schedules, and reminders

Ask MiOSbot to run work on a schedule or remind you later, then review, pause, or run automations from the Automations page.

Set one up in chat

The easiest way to create an automation is to ask MiOSbot. Say what to do and when.

  • “Every weekday at 8 AM, send me a short brief of today’s meetings and anything overdue.”
  • “Remind me tomorrow at 3 PM to call the landlord.”
  • “Every Monday at 9 AM, summarize last week’s new leads in a table.”
  • “On the first of each month, draft a reminder email to clients with open invoices.”

MiOSbot creates the automation and confirms the schedule. When it runs, it posts a summary to chat, or sends it to a connected channel if you ask for one.

Review automations

Open Automations in the sidebar to see every automation in your workspace.

  • Filter by All, Active, or Paused, or use Search automations.
  • Each automation shows its schedule, its Last run, and its Next run.
  • Select an automation to see its Settings and Run history. The history shows each run’s status, such as OK, Error, or Skipped, and whether the result was delivered.

Change an automation

On the Automations page, use the automation’s actions to:

  • Run now to run it right away.
  • Pause or resume it.
  • Clone it as a starting point for a new one.
  • Remove it. This permanently deletes the automation and stops all future runs.

To create one on the page, select New automation, describe what MiOSbot should do, then choose when it runs and where the result goes.

You can also make changes in chat. For example, “Move my Monday sales summary to 7 AM” or “Pause the daily brief until next week.”

Note: Changing automations on the Automations page needs administrator access. Without it, the page shows Browsing only, but you can still ask MiOSbot in chat.

Approvals in automations

Automations run while you’re away, so they don’t make sensitive moves on their own. If a run reaches a step that needs approval, such as a payment or sending a message on your behalf, the step waits for you. It appears in your Inbox under Approvals. See Approvals.

When an automation fails

Failed and overdue automations appear in your Inbox under Automations. If an automation fails many times in a row, it’s turned off and marked Auto-disabled. Ask MiOSbot “Why did my daily brief fail?” to get an explanation and a fix.
