Docs MiOSbot
Skills
Skills are reusable instructions that teach MiOSbot how to do a task your way. Use them, set them up, and add new ones.
What a skill is
A skill is a saved set of instructions for a specific kind of task, such as how to summarize a video or how you like weekly reports formatted. When a request matches a skill, MiOSbot follows it, so the work comes out the same way every time.
MiOSbot comes with built-in skills, such as summarizing articles, videos, and PDFs, checking the weather, and drawing diagrams. Your workspace can add more.
Use a skill
Usually you just ask, and MiOSbot picks the right skill:
- “Summarize this video for me.”
- “Draw a simple diagram of our order process.”
- “Write this week’s client report the usual way.”
To choose a skill yourself, select + in the message box, then Skills, and pick one.
See which skills are ready
Open Plugins in the sidebar, then the Skills tab. Filter by:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Ready | Skills MiOSbot can use now |
| Needs Setup | Skills that need something first, such as a key for an outside service |
| Not Assigned | Skills that aren’t turned on for your assistant |
| Disabled | Skills that are turned off |
Select a skill to see its details. If it needs an API key, the details show where to get one. Paste the key and select Save key. Some changes need administrator access.
Add a new skill
The easiest way to add a skill is to teach MiOSbot from real work:
- Do the task with MiOSbot in a session until the result is right.
- Ask: “Save how we did this as a skill” or “Turn this into a skill for future reports.”
- MiOSbot drafts the skill as a suggestion.
- Open Plugins, then the Workshop tab, then Suggestions.
- Review the draft. Select Apply to install it, Revise to tell MiOSbot what to change, or Reject to discard it.
Installed skills appear under Skills in the Workshop tab. You can compare a skill with earlier saved versions there.
Note: With Self-learning turned on in the Workshop tab, MiOSbot also suggests skills on its own from your corrections and finished work. In automatic mode, suggestions that pass a safety check are applied for you.
