Paired devices

Pair a computer or phone with MiOSbot so it can move files to and from it and use models that run on it.

What a paired device is

A paired device is a computer or phone you’ve connected to your MiOSbot workspace. Once paired, MiOSbot can use it on your behalf, within the access you approved when you paired it.

Device Status
Mac The MiOSbot app for Mac is coming soon.
iPhone The MiOSbot app for iPhone is coming soon.
Other computers Your workspace admin can set up a computer as a device.

Pair a device

  1. Ask your workspace admin for a setup code. Creating setup codes needs administrator access.
  2. On the device, enter or scan the setup code.
  3. Review the access the device requests, then confirm.

Important: Keep setup codes private. Anyone with a valid code could try to pair a device to your workspace.

Check which devices are online

  • “Which of my devices are online right now?”
  • “Is my office Mac connected?”

MiOSbot tells you which devices are connected. Online means connected, not necessarily in use.

Move files to and from a device

  • “Get the file Q3-budget.xlsx from the Reports folder on my office Mac.”
  • “List what’s in the Invoices folder on my Mac.”
  • “Save this summary as a file in the Shared folder on my office Mac.”

MiOSbot can list folders, fetch a file, fetch a whole folder, and save a file to the device. It works only in the folders your workspace admin allows for that device. Depending on those settings, MiOSbot may ask for your approval before it reads or writes a new location.

Limits:

  • Each transfer can be up to about 16 MB.
  • MiOSbot doesn’t replace an existing file unless you ask it to.
  • The device must be online.

Use models on your own computer

If a paired computer has its own AI models installed, MiOSbot can find them and run a request on that computer. The request stays on that computer.

  • “Which models are installed on my workstation?”
  • “Use the model on my workstation to summarize this paragraph.”

Ask your workspace admin if you want to set this up.

Show a panel on your Mac

On a paired Mac, MiOSbot can open a panel on your screen to show a page or a result, and hide it when you’re done. This needs the Mac app, which is coming soon.
